we yelled at each other the whole way up and down the mountain, but this has by far been the best trip to bishop yet. i look forward to capturing these moments every year.
my hat soaks up the warmth of the sun and dust from the ground. sweat drips down my forehead and turns into tears. jeans fade and theres indentation of where my pocket knife lays. photos by: @marygrosswendt
went back in time to the 1800s thanks to @reallisadodge . it was beautiful listening to you share your passion and love for history, i will remember this day forever. the process of tin types is so mind blowing, my mom would have loved to experience this with us and was definitely there in spirit!! thank you for having me🤍
deep blues and lucid greens mix, tossing disfigured images through innocent eyes. loneliness lingers under unknown depth, curiosity prys on an eroded mind. murky blacks and rich’s purples lure limbs deeper. strands of salty hair dance towards questions that will remain unanswered. those disfigured images now sift through a grainy cold mattress, a new species of bottom feeder.

Grief is something else. I’ve disassociated from my mothers death for the past two years and here we are almost to year 3, every day is a fucking challenge. My first time going to visit my mom in the hospital, “Right down the line” by Gerry Rafferty was playing, I stopped in my tracks, listened for a second, and wondered what I was about to walk into. I’ve got all my visitor passes glued in my sketchbook, all say room number 2159 except for the last one.
when i was little my dad let me tinker with his fly making kit, i was intrigued by the all the hooks, feathers, and dyed animal hair. naturally i made an absolute mess of it. yesterday i pulled it back out and tied a couple, not sure if they’d catch anything but they don’t look half bad. #watercolor #flyfishing
